Deserved result...Barnsley dominated opening 25 mins, Alfie made plenty of good runs off the ball without the service....Reading came into it in 2nd and opened scoring with Robson-Kanu hitting low and hard from just outside box,,,,,Alfie had a golden chance to double the lead just outside the 6 yard box but from a tight angle....the keeper parried, Alfie picked up the rebound but after pulling inside to get better a shooting angle, he skied it from close range in front of the Reading travelling contingent....Reading defenders all over the place for equaliser and Chris O'Grady slotted in unmarked from close range....overall a fair result....9.054 at game with 357 I think they said from Reading......Shouted Alfie over after the warm ups for him to sign my programme, I told him I was a Rotherham fan, he smiled and said, "i'll try and put a good performance in then"....sorry Alfie, love ya to bits, but you were no more than average today old lad....good luck for rest of season though.
Sorry about the blurring on some pics...me and floodlights don't get on.....obviously a bit of Alfie stalking in this lot...the penalty on pic 39 was taken by former World Snooker Champion Ken Doherty at half time as part of a special Snooker tourney at the Metrodome this week.....and also tonight's programme signed by the Alfster himself.
